About the Discovr® user interface

The Wall Street Journal provides this description of Discovr®:

"There’s a universe of music on the web, and a new iPad app helps you map it out. It lets you create an interactive, graphic map of your musical tastes.

You start out by searching for an artist. The app displays five or six similar artists, represented by nodes connected to the original name you searched. When you tap one of the new nodes, more similar artists branch out. A few more taps and you’ve created a sprawling map of interconnected artists and bands.

You can then double tap a node on your map to open an individual page of content about that artist, including a biography, reviews, links to iTunes and other sources to purchase tracks, and YouTube videos.

If you’ve ever spent hours browsing Wikipedia articles or watching YouTube videos, you know the irresistible pull of links for “suggested” or “related” content. Discovr® operates on this principle but goes a step further by providing a visual map that traces your journey.

The graphs are beautiful and dynamic, ideally suited to tactile interaction on the spacious iPad screen."
